Yuzen / Yuzenzome
Yuzen is technique of dyeing. Name of Yuzen came from Miyazaki Yuzensai, one painter for Japanese fan and he created the technique. There are two main types; Kyo-yuzen in Kyoto and Kaga-Yuzen in Kaga.
Kyo-yuzen, first created in Kyoto, was improved as a result of taking it to Kaga area where Yuzensai was invited by the Kaga clan and it is become called Kaga-Yuzen.
Itome-nori (starch) is used to prevent from dyeing in some part of cloth and going through 26 processes to become Yuzen.
